The 1% rules already too long

“Vice, crime and the misuse of wealth has reached such a peak that it is impossible NOT to write satire but, since it is dangerous to attack powerful men in their lifetime, I will take my examples from the past”. These words were two thousand years ago used by Juvenal, Decimus Iunius Juvenalis, a poet and satirist who lived at the end of the 1st century in Rome.

Not much has changed in the last 2000 years. The powerful 1% still rule for their own benefit.  It is time that we directly target these powerful people.
Most actions in the past and the present did not succeed in bringing fundamental changes. Actions hardly comply to the golden rule that damage to the 99% should be minimal and pressure on the 1% maximal.

Demonstrations in town centres, petitions or even taking part in elections hardly influence the behaviour of the 1%. The real power lives elsewhere. The Arab Spring and the actions in Turkey cause too much damage to the 99% while the 1% continue to live undisturbed in their mansions in exclusive quarters.

After two thousand years it is time to stop complaining and crying out about politicians but to start targeting the real power, the 1%, with fundamentally different action methods.

About Joost van Steenis

My latest book "How to make Revolution, developing the Fourth People's Power", can be downloaded for free from my site It contains new ideas how to take the money and power away from the most powerful people, the elite. It strives to get a new society in which not money is the pivotal point of all discussions but the idea that all people have the same status. New action means are introduced to reach this paradigm shift (a revolution) that concentrate on direct actions in the living sphere of the elite.
