Inequality is rising.
The economic crisis made life harder for common people while the wealth of the 1% increased. There are hardly actions to stop this greed. Political leaders are in the first place interested in the life of the 1%. Common citizens are seen as servants and not considered to have any real voice in how society develops.
The 99% may vote but the voice and the influence of citizens is very low. Top people who caused the crisis were not punished and nothing has changed. The coming next crisis will again be paid by the 99%. Most decisions are taken without any influence of the 99% while their life is deteriorating.
Politicians talk with each other, with their bosses, the 1%, and with lobbyists who are paid by the 1% to represent their interests. The industrial and financial lobbyists have enough money to force politicians to take decisions that favour their views over the interests of citizens. Money rules and not the sound arguments of citizens.
Politicians or the 1% barely talk with common citizens and favour decisions that in the first place hurt the 99%. They do not understand the problems of citizens. Demonstrations, strikes and other old-fashioned action means have not helped much to improve the situation of the 99%.
For change the 99% should start to pressure directly those people who are guilty of the bad economic situation by intruding in the cosy and extravagant private life of the 1% (and maybe also in that of politicians).
