The crisis accelerated the inequality. The rich got more and the 99% got less. Society became less humane. But resistance against the selfish and greedy 1% does hardly exist.
There are some actions to improve the income of common citizens but there are no actions agaist the (often hidden) wealth of the 1%. The people who have already a much better income, the 1% and their privileged servants, continue to increase their share.
There are hardly actions actions against the extravagant salaries nor against the extravagant products that only can be bought by the 1%.
There is also hardly attention for the tax havens where the 1% avoid paying any taxes. Small independent islands attract a lot of money earned in other countries where taxes are much higher.
In the last fifty years the differences between the 1% and the 99% have increased and the 99% did not undertake any action to get a world in which all peole have the same status. The 1% is more and more living in a world in which the 99% can only enter as servants.
We have a class society but there are no activities that try to decrease the differences. It is hardly acknowledged that most misery in the world is caused by the egoistic 1%, the people on top of the world who selfishly improve their own living at the cost of the life of the 99%.
Actions to improve our world are not very promising. The present actions are the same actions with fairly disappointing results that were carried out in the last fifty years. The leading class learned from the past and can now neutralise this kind of actions.
Activists often still think that demonstrations are sufficient. Trade-union leaders understood that strikes have become less successful in the rich Western countries. But they did not replace the old strikes by new action instruments. The power of the 99% went down (and also their income) while the power of the 1% to dominate the 99% increased (as did their income and wealth).
We should change our action methods and replace mass-actions in towncentres by small and more individual actions in the privileged living sphere of the 1%. When they do not feel any pressure they will continue to amass still more money.
