It is of course repugnant that chemical weapons are used in wars. But that the Western community forced Syria to destroy its chemical weapons is ridiculous.
Chemical weapons indeed killed a few thousand people in Syria but other weapons killed more than hundred thousand people and millions of people were forced to become refugees.
Why is there only action against chemical weapons and not against other weapons?
Chemical weapons are relative cheap to produce. It undermines the production of other weapons that are at least as deadly as chemical weapons. The 1%, the producers of other weapons, are hindered in their profitable business by the cheap production of weapons that can be made by everyone.
In a world that is ruled by money (and the money-owners, the 1%) not the interest of civilians is important but the thickness of the wallet of the 1%.
Wars and weapons are made to earn money. Cheap weapons undermine the reason on which our society is build, money for the few and misery for the many. The destruction of the Syrian chemical weapons did not stop the war in Syria and civilians continue to be killed and made refugee.
The split between rich and poor people is even increased by the prohibition. Rich people can use planes to bomb people who do not have anti-aircraft guns (too expensive) while poor people are forbidden too use weapons they can make themselves. Only the rich have the weapons that can rule the world. But that is obvious. When a world is ruled by money, the 1% use all means to protect their money, the fortune of the 99% is secondary.
It is even stranger. In the Iraq War the Americans used chemical weapons even in torturing prisoners. The rich are allowed to use all weapons the poor may not use weapons they can make themselves but must buy expensive weapons so the 1% can earn more from wars in for example Syria.
Money rules the world and the 1% get most of it. We should start to pressure the 1%. That will stop all wars in which only the 99% die.
