The world turns around money.
People with money have power, therefore the 1% have most power.
Through the ages the 1% propagated that money must rule above the interests of common citizens. Therefore there is still poverty, misery, wars and subordination of the 99%. But the 99% do not attack the 1%, they only have some actions against the servants of the 1%.
That must change.
A hundred years ago capitalists were the enemy that had to be attacked. But slowly the political servants of the 1% concentrated on small changes of a society in which the 1% determine the great lines. They become richer and may not be attacked. The 99% get sometimes some benefits but in crises they carry the heaviest burden. In this way we never get a world without a 1% in which everybody has the same status.
Past actions were not very successful. Activists demonstrated in town centres asking leaders to change decisions. It did not change the dominating mentality of the top. Money continued to flow to the top and basic decisions were still taken by the 1%. The difference between the 1% and the 99% grew and many people had not even a decent life.
There are hardly actions against the stream of money from the bottom to the top. There are no actions at all to prevent that the 1% get more money. Sometimes the 99% get some more money but always less than the top gets. The number of billionaires rises – also during the last crisis – and the number of poor people hardly diminishes.
The excessive use of money by the top should become the prime factor in actions. All articles, services and places that are only used by people who can spend more than 200.000 euro in one year are action targets. That pressures only the 1% while the 99% are not disturbed. This pressure on the 1% will diminish the stream of money to the top.
Without actions against the 1% nothing will change. Actions against the 1% will increase the enthusiasm of the 99% and the differences between leftist and rightist activists will become secondary. When the attack of the 1% intensifies it becomes time to discuss what kind of new society we should have. Because then the 99% see that we are progressing towards a new and better world without a 1%.
