78. Individual actions by common people are the motor behind all political Movements.

The movements in the years between 1965 and 1985 were inspired by small ideas. They had some successes. But these positive movements hardly changed society. That is the most important reason why movements became very rare after 1985. The influence of the 99% on society became smaller while the influence of the 1% increased. Their money reigned over the interest of the 99%.
I propose a Movement against the existence of a 1%.
The wealth of the top is increasing while the life of the 99% does not improve. Many small actions against the 1% will undermine their power. Then the possibility arises that the 1% have to hand over their money and power because they cannot live anymore their extravagant life.

Common people should not be hurt by the actions so actions should be small and mostly within the law. But there are many 99% and many actions that creatively disturb the life of the 1% have a big impact. The present actions by common people do not influence at all the life of the 1%.

Putting a stone in the pocket of a 1% when he/she is shopping or using some paint to colour his jacket or his car are small actions. Just as a noise demonstration in front of his house or sending a letter to his house that the 99% will once visit the 1%. It are small actions, hardly punishable. But many small actions have influence.

Always use the Golden Rule of Actions. Only the 1% should be damaged and never the 99%. The present kind of actions by political organisations break this rule. They lead even sometimes to violent contact with the police while the 1% are not disturbed at all. We should avoid such actions. The 1% is the target, not the police. Nor should there be conflicts between rightist and leftists common people. It does not solve anything and the 1% is not damaged at all.

The Brexit voters did understood that, leftist and rightist voters favoured Brexit and the leading political class was disturbed. The Brexit did not yet pressure the 1% but it was a step forward in the idea that we are controlled by the 1% and their often unknown servants. That must change. The disturbance of political leaders shows that Brexit was a small example (though not yet good enough to oust the 1%) of the result of many small actions by many common people. It proves that in this way success is possible.

I propose to start actions against the 1%, the future shall show positive results. A world without a 1% is a better world.

About Joost van Steenis

My latest book "How to make Revolution, developing the Fourth People's Power", can be downloaded for free from my site http://members.chello.nl/jsteenis. It contains new ideas how to take the money and power away from the most powerful people, the elite. It strives to get a new society in which not money is the pivotal point of all discussions but the idea that all people have the same status. New action means are introduced to reach this paradigm shift (a revolution) that concentrate on direct actions in the living sphere of the elite.
