79. A Movement has one dominating action point, organisations have many points.

A movement against the 1% direct all energy of the participants on people who belong to the 1%. Actions are carried out by the 99%, by individual common people. Actions of organisations are mostly promoted by leaders. A movement gives freedom to participants while an organisation only activates one kind of people and divides the 99%.
In movements the 99% decide why, when, how, where and against whom to attack. In organisations that is decided by leaders. They hardly attack the 1% because leaders often have the same goals as the 1%, getting more influence and money. Political organisations are part of the present society, political movements want change for the 99%.

Movements are a new Fourth Political Power next to the democratic Trias Politica, the judicature, the executive and the legislature on which the 99% have hardly influence. Organisations obey the three democratic powers while movements are independent. In organisations leaders decide. In movements the freedom and successes inspire the 99% to act and the self-consciousness of common people is strengthened.

In the Movement for a Brexit many leftist as well as rightist people voted against the untouchable dominance of the leaders in Brussels (and their servants in the British government). The left-right contradiction created by the democratic system disappeared and the 99% understood whom to attack, the vague people at the top of the European Union. The same happened in revolutions. In Cuba, China, Russia or France the left-right contradiction was small, the 99% acted against people who supported a society that was negative for the 99%.

Because they had the same goal the 99% united to get a new society without a 1%. Society changed but a new 1% arose that created a same kind of unequal society as existed in other parts of the world. That happened because political organisations decided over actions and not individual 99%. In past revolutions organisations dominated over individual ideas and activities of common people. The 99% never became independent and after a few years leaders started to decide and common people again became dependent of the few people at the top.

These movements had some successes but not yet completely. The independence of the 99% only grows when all pressure is on leading people at the top. Then we get a better society without a greedy 1%.

About Joost van Steenis

My latest book "How to make Revolution, developing the Fourth People's Power", can be downloaded for free from my site http://members.chello.nl/jsteenis. It contains new ideas how to take the money and power away from the most powerful people, the elite. It strives to get a new society in which not money is the pivotal point of all discussions but the idea that all people have the same status. New action means are introduced to reach this paradigm shift (a revolution) that concentrate on direct actions in the living sphere of the elite.
